Coronavirus: Nigeria places ports health services at alert

In response to the outbreak of a novel coronavirus in China, Thailand, Japan, the Republic of Korea and america of America, the Port Well being Companies Unit of the Federal Ministry of Well being in Nigeria has been positioned on alert and has heightened screening measures on the factors of entry.

Disclosing this growth in a public well being advisory on Wednesday, the Nigeria Centre for Illness Management, NCDC, urged Nigerians to stay calm.

“Vacationers from Nigeria to Wuhan, China, are suggested to keep away from contact with sick individuals, animals (alive or lifeless), and animal markets.

“Vacationers from Wuhan to Nigeria could also be requested questions upon arrival by the Port Well being Companies unit at factors of entry about signs of sickness and journey historical past, and are suggested to report instantly to NCDC in the event that they fell ailing after a visit to Wuhan.” The advisory mentioned the Federal Ministry of Well being by way of NCDC
